Writing Sample #1 (No dialogue):

From my VN (Second draft)~

A long, long time ago…

A circular land known as Cunabula, rests below the luminous blue sky.

There lives a goddess who protects this nest, using her divine powers to nurture each and every landscape.

She gives homes to her sacred birds: Phoenixes, a lifeform bird that cynically regenerates at each death.

Surrounded by her birds, they can only offer her entertainment such as dancing and playing music. It was their way to bless her, and honor her as their goddess...

One day, she vanished without a trace. All of her birds went off to panic, blaming each other of her disappearance.

Once they were pronounced as… ‘lost forever’. They grieved for their loss, and soon many of them separated, pricking their bonds as one with their goddess.

Only one was not pricked… he remained firm, as a tough feather that would stay on a bird’s wing.

Writing Sample #2 (Partical pauses, but more dialogue).

Luna: You make a fire with just one wing?

Tempest: Yeah.

Tempest: You got a problem with that?

Luna: Oh no. I was just concerned about your ability to survive without assistance.

Tempest: Is that so?

Luna: Anyways, your mother… wasn’t she banished by the Emerson family?

Tempest: ...

Luna: As an Aria Goddess, I should have the knowledge of the Cunabula’s history. That would include the Emerson family’s history.

Tempest: Oh, nice.

Tempest: You got the knowledge, I bet your mom raised you to be all pretty and shit.

Luna: Oh no. My father raised me… My mother passed away when I was born.

Tempest ceased her fire making.

She didn’t know why she did it. Maybe it was the sudden thought on if she never knew her mother, then how will she live on with just one wing?

Tempest: ...

Tempest: I’m sorry.

Luna: !

Luna: No, no. It’s fine!

Luna: *Ahem* I thank you for your kindness once more.

And so, Tempest continues to make the fire.
